Ozzy Osbourne – Scream Review

Scream

The prince of darkness returns with his tenth studio album, Scream.

His first album without Zakk Wylde in 22 years, Scream featured Firewind shredder Gus G. on guitar duty, and what a job he has done, The riffs are fantastic and the solo’s are great too, easily on par with Zakk’s best stuff. Gus seems to fit right in with Ozzy and his band.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ozzy’s vocals, but on this album they are superb, he sings with so much heart, unlike so many of today’s bands, you really believe Ozzy believes in what he is saying.

Ozzy has written some great songs in his time, and the songs on Scream are just about up there with his classics. Let Me Hear You Scream is the perfect metal single and tracks like Let It Die, Diggin’ Me Down and Fearless are awesome too.

Personally, I found this album much easier to get into than his previous release, Black Rain, with Scream, Ozzy has made his best album since 1991’s No More Tears.

With his best collection of songs in decades, Ozzy is still able to take on the world in 2010, the start of his fifth decade in the world of heavy metal!

9/10

Highlights: Let It Die, Let me Hear You Scream, Soul Sucker, Diggin’ Me Down, Fearless, Time
