Lostprophets

So, this isn’t the kind of thing I normally post, but I think some of you may enjoy reading it, if you dont, please complain to SamStowe@IDontGiveAFlump.com 🙂

So, recently I posted on my Facebook that I was listening to Lostprophets – Start Something. Thankfully, some people can appreciate that Lostprophets are a good band and that is an utterly stunning album, but there are always a few who complain, calling them “a baaaaad band” and saying “They sound more and more like Youmeatsix and All Time Low and all that crap every time they release an album… I never noticed how bad they were getting until their latest album, half of which is mainstream conformist bullshit and the other half sounds like gospel or something…?

what follows is an edited version of my reply. Continue reading

Roadrunner Reveal New Signing

Times Of Grace are the newest band to sign to Roadrunner records.

I know, I know, you have no idea who they are…

Remember before Howard joined Killswitch Engage? They had another singer, Jesse Leach. Well, he has finally teamed up with his old bandmate, and KsE guitarist and songwriter, Adam Dutkiewicz!

Their Debut album, The Hymn of A Broken Man will be released on November 9th.

Jesse Leach:

“In all my life. I have yet to write a record that bares my soul as much as this record does, Adam and I had a real spiritual connection while making this and I know that it comes through in the performances and lyrics. This record has our blood, sweat and tears flowing through it. It is painfully honest at times. In short this record is our catharsis.”

Adam D:

“Making this record was something completely new for me. It documents some of the most difficult, yet spirited times of my life in the past three-and-a-half years. A lot of the music and lyrics just came out of me while going through several internal struggles, and writing these songs were the only comfort I could find. I reached out to Jesse to help sing and write these songs with me because of my respect for his musical abilities, and because of our great friendship…one that seems to not change no matter what happens in our lives.

“In the end, I am very proud of this record, and I feel it has helped me through some of my darkest days. I’m hoping that people will enjoy it, and also that it can maybe help others to keep the most positive mindset, even through the most trying of times.”

The tracklisting for the album is:

Strength in Numbers
Fight For Life
Willing
Where The Spirit Leads Me
Until The End Of Days
Live In Love
In the Arms of Mercy
Hymn of a Broken Man
Hope Remains
The End of Eternity
Worlds Apart
Fall From Grace

Chimaira Cancel UK Tour

Chimaira have been forced to cancel their upcoming UK Tour.

“Due to an acute illness, we must cancel our upcoming UK tour. The band was really looking forward to the shows especially coming off a successful run in the US as part of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. Alas, health comes first, as it should for us all.

“Sorry to those who planned on attending. As the Governor of California once said, ‘We’ll be back’ or something like that.”

Hope whoever is ill gets better soon.
