Limp Bizkit – Glasgow O2 Academy – 26/8/10

Finally, the reunited Limp Bizkit return to Glasgow!

I must say, this was possibly my most anticipated gig, well, ever. It was Limp Bizkit, I band I’d loved since I was 10! I had my tickets mere seconds after they went on sale and I arrived at the venue long before the event started to secure my space up the front!

The first band to play were Glasgow natives Psyko Dalek. I have never seen an opening band get the crowd going as much as PD did. They may only have had a short set, but they left an impact on the crow. These guys are definitely one to watch for the future.

In my opinion, Twin Atlantic didn’t fit the bill, and judging by the reaction of at least half of the crowd, they agreed with me. Arriving onstage to a hail of boos and bottles to the face, Twin Atlantic played a solid set. They are a good band, but this wasn’t their crowd, I have a lot of respect for them for not giving in to the section of the crowd giving them abuse, but personally, I’d rather see Psyko Dalek get a longer set than watch Twin Atlantic.

Limp Bizkit took to the stage and the Academy exploded. Opening with Rollin’ the band played through a set filled with their greatest hits. Honestly, this is one of the most fun gig’s I’ve ever been to! the sing-along to Behind Blue Eyes was amazing, Fred look astounded by the exceptional volume and effort put in by the Glasgow fans. The only real let down was that they didn’t play any tracks from the new album. A great performance from a great band.
