Top 10: Albums Of The Decade

The past decade has brought us some fantastic music from bands new and old. I’ve had the hard task of compiling a list of the top 10 albums of the past decade, here it is:

We’ve Come For You All – Anthrax – 2003

Anthrax’s most recent album, featuring John Bush on vocals, is a fantastic album. It has some thrash moments like What Doesn’t Die, it has rock tracks like Cadillac Rock Box and it has my personal favourite Anthrax song Safe Home.

Endgame – Megadeth – 2009

The DistortedNews album of 2009, a superb album from start to finish.

Love Metal – HIM – 2003

The album that sent HIM into the stratosphere, it features great tracks like Soul On Fire, The Sacrament and the beautiful Funeral Of Hearts.

Black Stone Cherry – Black Stone Cherry – 2006
A brilliant debut from the Kentucky rockers. Not a bad track on it.

The Way Of The Fist – Five Finger Death Punch – 2007

A brilliantly brutal album.  Just awesome.

Avenged Sevenfold – Avenged Sevenfold – 2007

A great album, definately worthy of its place on the list. RIP James “The Rev” Sullivan.

Hate Crew Deathroll – Children Of Bodom – 2003

From opener Needled 24/7 through to the title track this is a five star album.

Shogun – Trivium – 2008

Trivium finally found their own sound on this album, and what a sound it was. It will be hard for them to top this.

Ghost Reveries – Opeth – 2005

An epic and dark album, just missing out on the top spot in this list.

The Blackening – Machine Head – 2007

The greatest album of the decade. Utterly awesomely fantastically brilliantly amazing. Just go and listen to it.

  1. RIP – James Sullivan, 28, known by his stage name, The Rev, was drummer & back-up singer for Avenged Sevenfold, His wife, a former nude internet model named Teen Topanga, found him unresponsive, but the autopsy is, so far, inconclusive.

  2. R.I.P Rev, you will be missed, very missed.

Great list, BTW. Very good list.
